The Municipality of Montevideo (IM) presented its budget proposal for 2024 and 2025 to the Departmental Board from the capital of Uruguay, which will begin to be dealt with on July 24. The official management numbers indicate that the departmental government had a slight surplus of 82 million pesos in 2022, along with a better fiscal result than the previous two years. In this sense, every three months, the companies that adhere to this contracting policy may collect the 10% monthly of nominal salary of the new employees. Among other provisions, the capital’s Accountability provides for bonuses in certain cases the payment for the driver’s license issuance fee professionals and amateurs for women from vulnerable socioeconomic contexts.

In the case of the professional license, the same exoneration will be maintained, including the cost of the medical examination carried out by the IM. Although it will also be granted 50% bonus —until December 31, 2025— to women who have a monthly income of more than 7.5 BPC.

The bonus will be granted, without requirements, to trans people who modify their data in accordance with Law 19,684.
