Westbahn could go to Vorarlberg from December
The Westbahn extended its offer to Innsbruck last December.

The “Vorarlberger Nachrichten” reported on Saturday. Westbahn Managing Director Thomas Posch paid a visit to the Vorarlberg Mobility Councilor Daniel Zadra (Greens) on Thursday, but no concrete plans were announced afterwards. The Westbahn extended its offer to Innsbruck last December.

According to “VN” information, the Westbahn also intends to serve the Vienna-Innsbruck-Bregenz route with the timetable change on December 10, 2023. With customer acceptance, the number of connections per day and direction could be expanded to two from 2025 and later up to four. Zadra told ORF Vorarlberg that it was still unclear whether Westbahn trains would be on their way to Vorarlberg in December. Further discussions would have to be held first.

The Westbahn started in December 2011 on the Vienna-Salzburg route. Since April of last year, the Westbahn has also been going to Munich, and since December to Innsbruck. Four trains per day and direction have been offered on the Vienna-Innsbruck route since June.
