He Central Board of Directors (Codicen) of the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) decided on June 28 to advance the holidays to the 3rd of this month in initial and primary education, which were scheduled for the following week, due to an increase in the circulation of respiratory viruses in school-age boys and girls. The decision of the Anep complicated the trips of the winter holidays since the students were going to have several days of class lost due to the advance of the dates. That is why the educational authorities accepted the request made by tour operators before the modifications of dates, contemplating the families that had already booked trips. “There was force majeure situation and the holidays had to be changed. How are we going to punish a student or his family for that?” Silva had pointed out.
In this regard, the hierarch anticipated at a press conference that “it must be raised in each educational center, but the idea is not to compute the lack” and he did not rule out “making an accompaniment for that week that they are not going to attend classes.”
“It has to be clear to families that the holidays due to this health situation are from 3 to 14,” he insisted, despite the fact that he admitted that “if any center wants to use its holidays, You can do it in coordination with Primary”.
