The 28-year-old made a total of 34 competitive appearances for SV Ried in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga relegation season. The 1.88 meter tall central defender was most recently under contract with the Turkish amateur club Bayrampasa (Istanbul). After relegation with Ried in 2017, Özdemir moved to the (then) German third division club Sonnenhof Großaspach. In Monday’s game, which started at 6 p.m. between Junge Vikings and RCD Mallorca, Özdemir started as a left central defender. The Spanish top club, which finished last season in ninth place in “La Liga”, is currently doing a training camp at the Therme Geinberg.
