Because he had “already had a little something” – the man explained to the police – he did not stop after the accident on Saturday evening. As reported, the driver of the car had hit a moped from behind on Kremsmünsterer Straße (L563) in the municipality of Ried im Traunkreis (Kirchdorf an der Krems district). The 17-year-old driver and his 15-year-old friend on the passenger fell. They were injured so badly that they had to be taken to a hospital.
Instead of taking care of the injured and setting the rescue chain in motion, the car driver simply drove on. Police called on witnesses to come forward. After information from the population, the police were able to investigate the accident driver, but could not find him at his home address. He only reported himself to the police on Sunday evening. Advertisements will be submitted to the Steyr public prosecutor’s office, the executive announced on Monday.
