Kirchham was the first municipality in Upper Austria to put an electric platform truck into operation. It replaces a diesel-powered vehicle that was showing its age. The purchase was made possible by federal and state subsidies.
The new 185 hp community vehicle, which was purchased from the local Ford dealer Kronberger, is charged via a photovoltaic system on the roof of the building yard. “The electric platform truck is ideal for us because it is only ever used for short trips,” says Mayor Ingo Dörflinger, who is proud of his community’s pioneering role in environmental protection.
