On Thursday it’s that time again: For the 35th time, the cobblestone spectacle will turn downtown Linz into a stage for around 300 international and local street artists. At 40 locations, they make their audience laugh and marvel from Thursday to Saturday. against a “hat money” fire shows, acrobatics, music, dance, entertainment and much more are performed.

The spectators can look forward to many highlights, one of which is spectacle veteran Matthias “This” Mag. The improvisational comedian has been a fixture of the plaster spectacle for 31 years.

For him, too, the festival is something special: the scene is becoming more and more professional and the audience is getting bigger, but “the great atmosphere has never changed over the decades”. Between April and October, the 52-year-old entertainer plays at a different festival almost every weekend, but his anticipation of the cobblestone spectacle is as “one of the best, most beautiful and loving street art festivals in the world”large.

a musical one “home game” is the plaster spectacle for the brass band “tin salad”, which was created in 2011 at the Linz Pop BORG. Ten years ago, the cobblestone spectacle opened the doors to the stages of the world for the group. “Back then we were young, shy boys”, says trumpeter Paul Szelegowitz. Since then, the group has learned to engage the audience with a lot of interaction. The band performs up to 70 times a year. The Linz Festival has a special place in their hearts: “The days in Linz are magical, it’s wonderful how the city transforms”says Szelegowitz.
