Two people were killed in severe storms in the Croatian capital Zagreb on Wednesday. Hurricane-force gusts blew through the city in the afternoon, uprooting trees, damaging roofs and bringing traffic to a standstill, Croatian television HRT reported. A 50-year-old pedestrian and a 48-year-old motorist were killed, Zagreb police said. Eight other people suffered injuries, hospital doctors reported.
