He Single Construction Union (Sunka) continues to be in conflict over his claim for a new collective agreement within the framework of the 2023 Wage Councilsthrough measures of force that include assemblies, zonal concentrations, demonstrations and surprise stoppages throughout the country.

On this day, Sunca carried out mobilizations of unionized workers in front of the esplanade of the Municipality of Montevideoin front of the building of the Maldonado City Hallas well as in other parts of the national territory.

Through social networks, the construction union expressed the intentions of its plan of actions arranged “for a collective agreement of advances”since they accuse of meeting “more than 100 days without agreement”.

In turn, this Thursday at 7:00 p.m., the Sunca is preparing a new general assembly in Plaza 1° de Mayo, in front of the Legislative Palace, which will be broadcast through its official Facebook page.

The CICE hopes to reach an agreement with the Sunca in Maldonado

The president of the Eastern Construction Industry Coordinator (ICC), Gustavo Robayna, dismissed that the Sunca measures have strained the talks and that they hope to reach a final agreement with the union, according to an interview with Aspen FM from Punta del Este.

According to Robayna, the “knot” of the conflict lies in the interpretation of a per diem that was generated many years agoand that the delay in the negotiations has nothing to do with the current differences between the CICE and the Sunca, but with the moment in which the national government issued the guidelines.

The president of the CICE specified that the issue of per diems contains a component linked to transportation for areas of difficult access, and another related to the cost of living in maldonadowhere it is higher than in much of the country.

“Negotiations are always tough,” declared Robayna, who said that there are meetings where efforts are made to advance as much as is necessary to reach a definitive agreement with Sunca.
