Up to 18,000 fans were expected when one of the greats of the music industry raises his voice next Saturday. But nothing will come of it now. The Robbie Williams concert at the foot of the famous Hochosterwitz Castle was canceled two days before the event. This was confirmed by the organizer of the Kleine Zeitung.

The weather was observed throughout the week. Then the ripcord was pulled. The expected rains are rumored to be the reason – and the associated problems with parked cars. They would have sunk in the dirt, reports the Kleine Zeitung. After hours of discussions with all those involved and the authorities, it was found that it was not possible to hold the event safely and carry it out in accordance with the decision.

In the official broadcast it reads like this: The “heavy storms and precipitation of the last few days in Carinthia (…) have severely affected the park and event areas.” A setback for the concert location in front of the picturesque backdrop.

The event agencies involved said that they could not remember any such cancellation – Nova Rock also often took place in the most extreme weather. The fact that the parking situation should be the reason is incomprehensible, they say. Not least because everything had already been set up – the huge stage, 400 tons of aluminum plates that had been laid.

They are very sorry to have to announce that the event cannot take place, according to the broadcast. But: “Safety first!”

The reimbursement of the cost of purchased tickets is regulated by law.
