Spectacular videos, which spread rapidly on social media, show how a tornado sweeps across the roofs of the Lombardy metropolis in the gloomy sky. According to consistent media reports, a severe storm swept over Milan around 11 a.m. on Friday – with thunder, lightning, heavy rain, a storm and a tornado. The shots look like something out of a disaster movie:
Both the city itself and several communities were affected northeast of the center. Firefighters worked continuously to clean up the storm damage. The strong wind knocked off numerous roofs, and trees and branches landed on the streets. Heavy rainfall also caused flooding, in Milan there was about the Viale Abruzzi under water. Strong thunderstorms with hailstones the size of golf balls were also reported from Trentino.
