Eight Uruguayan students were selected by the POT to participate in the global final of the International Competition for the Design of Spatial Settlements, which represents a milestone for public education, according to the ANEP President, Robert Silva.

For his project to live on the surface of Mars, young people will travel next July 27th to NASA facilities in Cape Canaveral, United States, after being chosen in the Latin American Space Challenge. During the presentation and recognition act for the young people and teachers who will act as tutors, Silva valued this type of instances, considering that they “value” public education in the country as a “generator of opportunities.”
Together with the president of Ancap, Alejandro Stipanicic, and the general director of Secondary Education, Jennifer Cherro, The head of ANEP highlighted that “it is not the first time that Uruguayan students have excelled in international competitions”, while he highlighted the role of educators and families in motivating students.

Stipanicic stressed that the eight students will travel to the United States thanks to an agreement signed between ANEP and the company. “We have to imagine the future to 50 years, when our refinery stops processing oil”, he highlighted when highlighting the role of green energy.
