The German was a keen athlete until he lost both his legs in a racing bike accident at the age of 27. But Böhm fought back: He learned to walk on two prostheses and received the highest coaching diploma in football with the UEFA Pro license. Böhm is still active as an extreme athlete, for example as a hand biker.
Handicap becomes a minor matter
The mental coach now passes on his experience of how professional and private changes can best be mastered in lectures and seminars. The target group are in particular entrepreneurs and executives.
On August 9th, Rüdiger Böhm will speak as part of the Upper Austria News Business Academy at the Metzenhof Golf Club in Kronstorf about the connection between sport and entrepreneurship. Using golf as an example, Böhm wants to show how it is possible to free oneself from negative emotions, overcome crises and achieve one’s own goals – “so that the handicap becomes a minor matter”. The 53-year-old lives in Switzerland and has also written his story into a book.
