On Friday, the Ukrainian army fired “21 artillery shells and three rounds of cluster munitions at the town of Zhuravlevka near the border,” regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Saturday in the online service Telegram. The ammunition was fired from a multiple rocket launcher.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said via video link at the Aspen Security Conference in the United States that the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula with Russia would bring “war, not peace” and was therefore a military target.

Meanwhile, Ukraine attacked Crimea again with drones on Saturday, according to Russian sources. This could also have been the reason for the temporary closure of the Crimean Bridge. At least four people were killed by Russian shelling in eastern Ukraine.
