The man who is said to have openly shown suspicious tattoos in the outdoor pool in Braunau a few days ago was arrested. It is a 32-year-old Austrian from the Braunau district.
On Friday evening, the man was confronted with the testimonies at home after investigations. The suspicious tattoos were found on the man’s body. According to testimonies, these are, among other things, SS runes. The public prosecutor’s office in Ried ordered the arrest of the 32-year-old man with a criminal record. Since then he has been in the prison in Ried.
The case provoked nationwide criticism, especially of the actions of two police officers: After a report from a Bavarian colleague, they did not confront the suspect and did not enter the outdoor pool, the Upper Austria News reported. The police intervention on site will be checked in terms of content and disciplinary law, according to the police.
