What is artificial intelligence (AI) and what can it do? In which areas is it already commonplace? Clara Schachner, Research Project Manager Data Science, gave the children’s university participants an insight into the world of future technologies and how innovative projects with company and research partners are created from them.
“AI will have a major impact on our lives over the next few years because it is an incredibly powerful technology that is being further developed in many areas, such as medicine. AI can provide support here by analyzing large amounts of medical data and recommending personalized therapies. It is important to arouse a fascination for research from an early age,” says Schachner.
In the OIS (Open Innovation Space) the girls could try out the “IntegraMouse Air” from “LIFEtool”. This “mouse” is operated with the mouth by people with paraplegia to control the computer. Schachner: “The oral computer mouse also enables training of the respiratory muscles. This is very important for people with severe paraplegia.” The SCCH contributes its expertise in the field of AI to a research project.
