The telemanagement sector of the National Administration of Electric Power Plants and Transmissions (UTE) decided to carry out a 24 hour strike In the call center of the state company, from the union they established that telephone calls will not be answered unless it is due to lack of service.

From the Association of UTE Officials (AUTE) They remarked that they are claiming for cuts that are being carried out in the company, as well as for the excessive number of people outsourced in the telemanagement sector.

On the other hand, according to their publications on social networks, there are three claims that stand out: higher staff income and against outsourcing, respect for the Collective negotiation and the functional career defense.

The leader of AUTE, Gonzalo Castelgrandestressed that calls from the public will not be answered, although they will receive claims for power cuts since “they are not going to leave anyone stranded,” according to what the unionist stated to the Arriba la Gente program on Channel 10. “Know that we are making union guards to respond to claims due to lack of energy. We are never going to leave the population stranded,” Castelgrande explained.

According to the leader, the conflict is due, in large part, to the fact that the 80% of UTE’s telemanagement staff is outsourced. In this sense, from the union they demand that people be incorporated into the company, which would be a saving for the population.

“They are permanent, strategic tasks for the UTE and that is already a sample of what is happening today in UTE, which pays close to 200 million dollars a year to outsourcing, to businessmen who take the money from all Uruguayans. We are asking for the entry of personnel, to outsource sectors. It would be a saving for the population”, explained Castelgrande.
