A 59-year-old driver sustained injuries of an undetermined degree in an accident in Bad Ischler Faschlweg on Tuesday morning. According to the woman, the hybrid car suddenly accelerated by itself and could no longer be braked. In her distress, the driver pulled the handbrake. The vehicle skidded, lifted off a fence and collided with a garden staircase. The residents of the house who heard the loud bang informed the emergency services.
The accident driver was able to free herself from the wreck on her own before the rescue workers arrived. She was taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Bad Ischl by ambulance. The Bad Ischl volunteer fire brigade recovered the accident vehicle using a heavy crane.
