Faced with this, the minister wanted to clarify the situation by establishing that levels of less than 200 milligrams are the usual ones. “The first thing to say is that it did not increase with respect to what are the usual values. The usual values of 200 milligrams per liter of sodium are being maintained and throughout life, it is common for there to be a fluctuation within those 200 milligrams per day,” he explained.

What about populations at risk?

After the great increase in salinity and chlorides in the water reserves, the MSP had recommended that the hypertensive people, with kidney pathologies and pregnant women do not drink running water. With the current results, assured the minister, the scenario has changed, although there are still issues to take into account and, therefore, the battle against the water crisis has not been won.

“Being at levels below the norm, we are exactly the same as we were before the water crisis began. so that there is no recommendation to make. The issue is that we still do not have the certainty that these levels will continue like this, for how long they will continue like this, therefore, we continue with some caution and that is why we have not announced that the battle is won because it is not yet so, “explained the minister.
