The organizers of the Mühlviertel Wiesn and the Mühlviertel Adventure Fair are hoping for a similarly great trade fair experience as in the past two years with more than 100 exhibitors and around 35,000 visitors from the day after tomorrow, Friday. Under the motto “Future: Technology – Nature – Climate” the adventure fair 2023 combines the fascinating worlds of technology and nature in the Mühlviertel. Numerous exhibitors show how the potential for climate-friendly behavior, business and life can be used.
The day after tomorrow, Friday, the rides in the exhibition amusement park will open from 5 p.m. The traditional opening follows on Saturday with the ascent of the horse-drawn carriages from the main square to the exhibition grounds. After the official tapping of the beer at 11 a.m., everything at the fair is in full swing. For this purpose, those responsible for the trade fair have set daily priorities: Saturday is family day and hunting day with a hunting dog demonstration and a performance by the hunting horn blowers (1.30 p.m.). There will also be a traditional costume fashion show in the marquee at 3 p.m. and a performance by the band “Zwirn” in the evening. The day of the emergency services follows on Sunday with deployment exercises by the blue light organizations and presentations at Stifterplatz. A Schuhplattler Cup will be held in the marquee. Monday is all about the seniors, including the state hiking day of Upper Austria. Senior Citizens Association. Reduced prices apply to children in the amusement park on Mondays until 6 p.m.
The Tuesday program has it all again: on the Day of Youth and Clubs there is a special show on Stifterplatz, a vintage car driveway and a cozy conclusion to the fair in the marquee with the Neumarkter Böhmische.
Voucher for public transport users
In cooperation with the Upper Austrian transport association, Messe Mühlviertel offers a trade fair package for arrival and departure by public transport. All visitors who arrive with one of the regional buses of the OÖ Verkehrsverbund receive a counting card from the bus driver, which is valid as a consumption voucher worth three euros in the marquee. For this purpose, a special night service will be set up for the journey home from Freistadt to Linz. On Friday, Saturday and Monday, OÖVV special buses run on line 311/312 at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. from the Stifterplatz bus terminal to Linz main station.
