The police officers became aware of the 51-year-old at around 2:15 p.m. while refueling their service vehicle: When one of the officers entered the gas station to pay, the man who smelled strongly of alcohol and tobacco came towards him. The patrol then wanted to leave the gas station again when the light on a van parked there suddenly went on. The officials recognized the 51-year-old in the vehicle and carried out a check. The man said he had had three beers since 1:30 p.m. and only started his vehicle to charge his cell phone. An alcohol test carried out on him showed a value of 1.62 per mille.
The man has now lost his driver’s license, which was taken from him on the spot. The key to the company car was handed over to a work colleague.
