The demining service transported them away after an investigation. This was announced by the State Police Directorate in a press release on Friday.
Shortly before midnight on Thursday, the police received information that a man was standing in front of the Vorchdorf office with war material. The officers met the 35-year-old, who reported that he had discovered three grenades in a wooded area and initially left them lying around. But because he couldn’t fall asleep afterwards, he later went back into the forest. He took the explosive find and personally took it to the police.
An investigation by an explosives expert from the law enforcement branch and the demining service revealed that it was ammunition for a grenade launcher, an English hand grenade and a Hungarian style grenade. The demining service transported them away for safe disposal.
