A ride with a seven-year-old American Quarter Horse mare ended in the hospital for a young woman on Friday: The 33-year-old was around 4:15 p.m. in the municipality of Schönau im Mühlkreis (Freistadt district) when the accident occurred. Because the woman’s jacket fell off the horse, the animal was startled, and the woman from the Mühlviertel fell headfirst onto the gravel road. She was so badly injured that she had to be taken to the UKH Linz with the rescue helicopter “Christophorus 10”, the police said on Friday evening.
