Rescue, water rescue, police and several fire brigades were alerted on Sunday evening to Rutzinger See in the municipality of Hörsching, district of Linz-Land. According to initial information, a 55-year-old man got under water. “The victim’s son sounded the alarm. Fire brigade comrades from the Traun fire brigade were there privately. They pulled the man out of the water and immediately started resuscitation,” said Jörg Lorinser, commander of the Rutzing volunteer fire brigade, on Sunday evening in the OÖN conversation .
First responders tried to revive the man before the rescue team arrived. The condition of the 55-year-old, who was taken to the hospital, is likely to be critical. The Rutzinger See is a popular local recreation area with a zone for anglers and swimmers. Commander Lorinser estimates that around 100 to 150 bathers come on nice weekends.
