After just minutes after the debate began for the Accountability in the Chamber of Deputiesthe deputy of Open Town Hall (CA), Álvaro Perroneannounced that his party will not vote in favor of the coalition project, which puts resources at risk for the next year of the president’s administration Luis Lacalle Pou.
The deputy of AC assured that from the party they did not reach an agreement regarding the project of Accountabilitywhich puts at risk the resources of the administration of the government of Lacalle Pou. “At this moment we are not voting on Accountability, we have not reached agreements on our proposals,” Perrone stated at a press conference.
From the party led by the former commander, Guido Manini Rios, assured that an agreement was not reached regarding the resources destined to the salaries of the military and the Military hospital. “We made a proposal from before the beginning of the Accountabilityin it Ministry of Economy, being the last one in which spending can be increased, which is the increase in the troop, to the soldiers, the lowest salaries, which are minimal, but it is a figure that adds up. And an item for night pay and another item for the Military Hospital”, explained the deputy.
In this sense, Perrone announced that they managed to get these resources from the Ministry of Defence and questioned the government’s decision. “We found the formula to finance this with money from the Ministry of Defense. We understand that there is a political decision from another place, I don’t know where, that this reallocation is not allowed when the money is there, ”he remarked.
Reallocation against the fiscal deficit
The tax situation in clear deterioration that the government must manage did not allow large budget increases, even despite the claims of the different areas that, despite the lack of public money, face the increase in needs to cover and costs that do find a way to increase .

In this regard, during negotiations with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)They reached an agreement for reallocate close to 200 million pesos, half of the 400 million that they initially wanted. But the changes aren’t written up yet—at least, until last night they weren’t—so there’s nothing set. In addition, there may be further modifications at the time of voting.
