The MGAP will evaluate in September if the agricultural emergency continues

The owner of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), fernando mattospointed out that his government portfolio will evaluate the weather situation to decide whether or not to continue with the current state of agricultural emergencyonce the term of the last extension ends next Saturday, September 23.

At a press conference, Mattos recalled that, on that date, Uruguay The 11th month will already be transiting since the declaration of the agricultural emergencyso it is necessary to make a decision on this in spring.

“The shortage of fodder and the availability of food for cattle in the dairy sector has been going on for many months without constituting the necessary reserves to feed the different productions,” said the minister.

Along these lines, he announced together with the president of ancap, Alejandro Stipanicicthat his ministry and the state company signed an agreement for the delivery of fodder to rural producers affected by the drought.

Earlier, Minister Mattos had witnessed the opening ceremony of the VII National Congress of Protected Natural Areas, organized at the Radisson Hotel.
