A 16-year-old moped driver sustained such serious injuries in a collision with a truck that she had to be taken to the hospital in Wels by emergency helicopter.
The young woman from the Mühlviertel was traveling around noon on the winding L 1074 between Geboltskirchen and Eberschwang when the accident occurred in a confusing right-hand bend. The girl from the Urfahr district collided with an oncoming truck driven by a 31-year-old from the Ried district. She fell and suffered serious injuries, police said in the early evening.
It was the second serious two-wheeler accident this Wednesday in Upper Austria: The emergency helicopter was also deployed in the Rohrbach district after a seven-year-old cyclist had collided with a car:
