In the Innviertel community of Brunnenthal (Schärding district), a 25-year-old Hungarian has settled in an empty factory building. When police officers paid him a visit on Wednesday, they found cannabis cuttings and an airgun in Hall 22.
The unemployed man, who has not registered a place of residence in Austria, was arrested. There is a weapon ban against him, and there was also an arrest order from the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum (BFA).
The suspicion that the cannabis plants were not only intended for personal use – but much more for sale – was confirmed during the investigation. The 25-year-old was transferred to the Ried prison on Thursday, the police said in a broadcast.
