The Justice of bolivian ordered preventive detention for six months for the “trustworthy men” of the drug trafficker Sebastian Marset. It’s about the lawyer Robert Arana and Rony Suarez Milliet.
Arana, designated as the lawyer who provided legal protection to the fugitive drug trafficker for two weeks, and Suárez, accused of managing companies with Marset’s money, were brought before the anti-corruption judge Roberto Paradawhich evaluated the Prosecutor’s evidence and determined to send the accused for six months to the Palmasola prison.
Both were charged with the crime of legitimation of illicit profits by the Prosecutor’s Office, who had requested detention for 180 days in Palmasola on the grounds that there is evidence that they had a close relationship with Sebastian Marset in buying and selling expensive real estate to launder money.
Marset, who managed to take refuge in bolivian with three false identities, he is considered a drug dealer “highly dangerous” and of “high value”.
Arana, accused by the Police of being the third in command of the criminal organization, denied having provided services for illegal activities and trusted that the hearing would prove, during his transfer to the Santa Cruz Courthouse.
Arana, 40, is known in the Santa Cruz media as “Robertito”, he was a lawyer for the Pro Santa Cruz Civic Committee and, according to investigations, he was in charge of the legal protection of the criminal organization of Sebastian Marset.
“Simply, I did a lawyer’s job for him and now I am involved in this problem. I was his lawyer in 2019, he gave me a power of attorney to do a job at the Consulate (of Uruguay) from his original passport, but I did not know any of their aliases”, insisted the lawyer.
In the case of Milliet, the investigators accused him of managing Uruguayan drug companies and “launder money” from drug trafficking, opening companies in his name.
