The total amount of projects recommended by Comap between January and May of this year amounted to $396,744,761. Likewise, the number of initiatives sent represented a 20% growth in year-on-year terms, while during the first five months of 2022, 235 proposals had been recommended. The projects not only grew in number, but also in investment budgets.
In this sense, last year the total in the considered period was 269,325,428 dollars; Therefore, the amount of this 2023 —until May, inclusive—, exceeds it by a 47.3%.
How was the project recommendation distributed?
Of the months contemplated in the clipping, May was the one that presented the greatest number of projects recommended by Comap, with 116 initiativeswhen in the same period of 2022, the total number of initiatives had barely reached 57.
It was followed by the largest number of proposals sent to the Executive Power in March, with 59; February and April, with 40; and January, with 27. The behavior of these months was similar in year-on-year terms.
In any case, despite the fact that the fifth month of the year was the one with the most recommended projects, it ranked second in terms of the total amount of investments, with 113,172,379 dollars. The first place was obtained March, with a total of money involved that reached the $147,065,852.
On the other hand, the sectors of the recommended projects were varied, although fundamentally the services, trade, activities related to agribusiness and to the industries.
The initiative recommended by Comap to receive tax benefits that involved a greater amount of investment was the Movistar, for a total of $98,695,273, corresponding to March. The MEF office did not detail what the project consists of, and only classified it within the “telecommunications” category.
The second recommended project that involved the largest amount of money was the Oriental Malting, for a total of $51,697,564and consists of the industrialization of malted barley.
