The Adler Group, which has about 17,000 of its 26,000 apartments in Berlin, has now announced that it will leave the alliance because it will increase rents above the specified value – a maximum of eleven percent in three years. According to a company spokeswoman, this is necessary after an overall consideration of the interests of stakeholders, shareholders, creditors and tenants. According to media reports, rents will be increased by the maximum legally stipulated in Berlin, 15 percent.

The Adler Group has been in crisis for about two years, last year it posted a loss of 1.7 billion euros. The real estate company had previously been targeted by the German financial regulator. The auditing company KPMG had refused the attestation for the 2021 balance sheet.
