The accident happened around four in the morning in the direction of Vienna between the Sattledt motorway exit and the Allhaming motorway exit. A Romanian minibus and a van rolled over in the collision and lay on their side. Debris, luggage and even a washing machine were spread over 200 meters on the road. The side panel was missing from the pickup truck.
A total of eight people were injured in the accident, two of them seriously. The seven occupants of the minibus were able to free themselves from the vehicle. The seriously injured driver of the pickup truck was trapped in the vehicle. He had to be extricated from the heavily damaged vehicle by firefighters.
The A1 was closed in the area of the accident for about an hour and a half. A diversion via the A8, the Innkreis autobahn, and the A25, the Wels autobahn, have been set up. A backwater of about one kilometer formed in front of the accident site.
