At around 9:10 p.m., a 51-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district rode his unlit mountain bike on the cycle path that ran parallel to the Redleiten State Road in the direction of Vöcklamarkt. In the village of Oberalberting, he collided with an oncoming 45-year-old cyclist from the Ried district.
The 51-year-old, who briefly lost consciousness, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck by ambulance. The 45-year-old suffered minor injuries.
