In the “Formula 1 der Furchenkaiser” the veteran ploughman of the Kremsmünster rural youth once again showed his class: Stefan Steiner pulled the most beautiful furrows in the country plowing in Sierning at the weekend in the bed plow class. This was his fourth national victory. Bernhard Keferböck (Sipbachzell) and Andreas Eder (Handenberg) landed in the places.
As defending champion and federal champion from 2021, Steiner is qualified for this year’s federal performance plowing on Saturday, August 26th, in Nickelsdorf and is aiming for his second federal championship title. As a silver medalist at the 2017 World Plowing Championships in Kenya and a bronze medal at the 2022 World Plowing Championships in Ireland, he is one of the contenders.
Niklas Gadermayr from Dorf an der Pram became the crowd favorite in Sierning in the bed plow category. The newcomer wowed the knowledgeable spectators with an old Steyr 288 with 45 hp and a two-share bed plough. His grandfather, Josef Gadermayr, who started twice at the World Championships, was already plowing with the same team 61 years ago at the state ploughing.
