The presidential candidate for the broad front (FA) hinted that, in his opinion, Ripoll should have joined the ranks of the FA and not the PN if his interest was to make a leap into politics.

In the past, Ripoll already belonged to the FA after joining the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU) in 2010, but a few years later he decided to disassociate himself from it, due to irreconcilable differences. In turn, he declared that after this he suffered acts of vandalism at his private home, apparently linked to the party.

This month, Ripoll announced his departure from union activity to join the ranks of the PN. Likewise, he confirmed his support for the possible presidential candidacy of the Secretary of the Presidency, Alvaro Delgadowhom some point to as the president’s political “dolphin” Luis Lacalle Pou.

The ex-unionist will now join as an adviser under a commission pass in the seat of Martin Motto in the Chamber of Deputiescurrent minister of Social development (you measure), which is occupied by its first substitute, Fernanda Araujo.
