The World of Work Museum (MAW) will be working on food for the world of tomorrow until July next year. According to information from those responsible for the MAW, the number of visitors to the “Future Food” exhibition, which has been running since February, is still enormous.
In order to expand the themes of the exhibition, an exciting supporting program with excursions, discussions and special tours has now been developed, which will be gradually expanded. It starts on September 7th with a lecture by agricultural scientist and co-author of the UN World Agricultural Report, Anita Idel, on the topic of climate protection in agriculture. A discussion follows.

variety of topics
“We want to arouse curiosity and show what creative and sustainable approaches to our nutrition and its production exist,” says Philip Templ from the MAW, summarizing the intention of the supporting program.
The diversity of the exhibition is visible in the different themes and in the different formats, which include discussions, excursions, special tours with experts and workshops. Critical topics are not left out. Last but not least, the supporting program also succeeds through a large number of cooperations, such as with the Dominikanerhaus, Bioverband Erde & Saat, Weltladen Steyr, VHS Oberösterreich, Klimafokus and many more.
Stephan Rosinger, artistic director at the museum, says: “The topic of sustainability, nutrition and agriculture is deeply rooted in our region. There are so many initiatives and people who are dealing with the future of our nutrition and our planet, regardless of whether in town or country.”
Consumer dialogues in September
In addition to days of action and excursions, the Museum of Working World with its exhibition is also this year’s venue for the Consumer Dialogues from September 28th to 30th. For three days, this conference is all about food. The focus is on the dialogue between those who produce the necessary food and those who consume it.
The free discussions are open to anyone who is interested. The entire program of consumer dialogues is available on the Internet at Konsumdialoge.at/Lebensmittel. Further information on the individual events can be found on the homepage museumarbeitswelt.at.
