This means that Austrians who live in the border region and work in Germany can use their home office. Previously, for tax reasons, it was necessary to commute across the border to work. The cross-border commuter regulation was also extended to employees in the public sector. “By expanding the regulation, we are responding to an urgent concern of employees and companies in the border region,” said Lindner.
