Real estate prices had a negative variation of 4.36% year-on-year

The median of prices for property transactions estate in dollars it had a negative variation of 4.36% year-on-year to May 2023, and another exactly the same in the monthly comparison between April and May 2023.

The data comes from the latest technical bulletin on indicators of real estate activity (IAI) in the sale and purchase market prepared by the Statistics National Institute (INE) based on records of the National Directorate of Records, for the period May – June 2023.

In May, the median prices in the buying and selling market throughout the country, it was established at 71,731 dollars, with a slight comparative decline.

In the year 2022, these indicators had given very different results, since the monthly variation of the median of prices In dollars in May 2022 it was 25% compared to April of that year, and the year-on-year variation had reached 21.34% compared to May 2021.

The number of real estate purchase and sale registrations had a variation of 8.08% year-on-year

In turn, the number of discharges of buy and sell to June it registered a negative monthly variation of 0.91% with respect to May, but an annual variation of 8.08% with respect to June 2022, registering increases of 4,470 units.

In June 2022, the monthly variation had been 5.86% compared to May 2022, and the interannual variation was 9.04% compared to June 2021.

In June, 6,610 pieces of furniture registered as purchase-sale by movement were registered, of which 67.62% corresponded to registrations (4,470 units), another 1,947 units were priority reservations (29.46%), and 193 were movements of other nature.

Of the purchase and sale registrations, 32.80% belong to Montevideo; 16.7% to maldonado; 15.32% to cannelloni; 7.63% to rock; and 5.32% to Cologne.
