It was known that at some point the excavators would come up and demolish the old silo building in the port area. It’s been like this since last week. The excavators would slowly “gnaw their way forward”. With that, not only a house disappears, but also the first wall with which the Mural Harbor was founded. The octopus, the container shoved, was artistically put on the wall in 2011 “projected”, In 2014 he was replaced by the motif “Beyond” by the German graffiti artist stohead, that has been seen so far.
“It hurts that this work will soon be history and disappear,” says Wall-Harbor boss Leonhard Gruber on OÖN request. “It will also be missing.” What will hurt most, however, is that the much-photographed and practically worldwide known mother-child motif by aryz will fall with the silo.
Other routes for guided tours
However, this only affects the tours to the extent that routes change, as Gruber says. “There are still enough walls to tell stories about.” The Brazilian Luna is currently painting opposite the demolition silo Bastos a small wall. More will follow.
But that’s only small consolation, because Gruber describes the old silo as a “jewel box” in the world-famous open-air port gallery.

Irrespective of this, the tours are still in demand. In summer, a guided tour is even offered daily from Wednesday to Sunday. “So the demand is right and as long as there are still big walls like the one with the two tied women, you can still tell a lot to those who are interested,” says the Mural Harbor boss. A few works of art will, of course, soon only be seen in pictures.
