The resident of an apartment building had apparently lost his nerve at the sight of three employees from a clearance company that had been commissioned to clear the attic by a housing association. From the window of his apartment, he threatened the men who were in front of the house and threw masonry troughs, a ladder, an electric scooter and a fire extinguisher in their direction. The company bus was hit.
When the police arrived, the 51-year-old made his way to an acquaintance’s apartment on foot. When officers got there, he was alone in the apartment, but may not have calmed down yet. He smashed the glass of the living room door and threw a shard and a metal can towards the officers. Forces of the special unit Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) finally arrested the rioters. He was taken to the Wels prison by order of the Wels public prosecutor’s office. No one was injured, police said Wednesday night.
