After an intensive one-week training camp in Carinthia, the high-performing team from the Wels Rowing Club started the international sprint regatta in Völkermarkt on Sunday. The young rowers put in a lot of effort and, thanks to their excellent performance, won the overall international student ranking. Emil Reitzinger, Paul Niemetz, Lukas Schönhuber and Sebastian Gruber as well as Leo Tumeltshammer with his partner Ruben Nagy all contributed to this in double sculls, all of whom secured victory in their runs by a clear margin.
Alena Lux also won gold twice in singles and together in doubles with her partner from Wiking Linz. Lukas Schönhuber was also happy about a second gold medal, which he confidently rowed more than ten seconds ahead of second-placed in the one. In addition, the RC Wels boats secured a fantastic eight second and four third places.
