The directory of Conaprole officially communicated a 22% drop in the price per liter of milk for remission at the plant during the month of August, and did not rule out that there are new reductions in the course of the year.

Last week, the company had announced that it was projecting a reduction of up to 21% for the price per liter of milk, however, this was even higher. From the dairy cooperative they argued that the decision was based on the complexity of the situation in foreign markets.

The president of the cooperative Gabriel Fernandezdeclared last Tuesday to Radio Oriental that nobody could “anticipate” the sharp reduction in prices made by the New Zealand company Fonterrathe world’s largest dairy exporter, for the 2023/2024 financial year.

In turn, the mobilizations carried out by Brazilian producers to put a brake on dairy imports generated several delays in shipments of Conaprole to the South American country.

From these contemplations, Fernandez reported that the board of directors resolved a 15% reduction in the valuation of solids, and the withdrawal of the winter-seasonal bonus of 11%.

Conaprole estimated an average price of 13.80 pesos per liter of milk sent

“The average price for August, more or less, will be around 13.80 pesos per liter,” said the president of Conaprole. In the last month of the 2022/2023 financial year ended in July, the dairy company paid an average of $0.46 per liter of milk sent.

“This price is for August, unfortunately we cannot do it for September”, because “we have to make it very short because this is very changeable, and we cannot guarantee that this will be the lowest price that we are going to have in the spring “, assured the director.
