Last year Steiner became world champion in the air pistol mixed team with Richard Zechmeister from Burgenland. “I’m really happy, although I didn’t expect a top result after my weak start.”

Steiner had started her competition with 87 and 85 rings for the time being. But from the third series onwards she improved continuously and won the competition with 540 points and a respectable distance of six points to the second-placed Mongolian Bayartsetseg Tumurchudur. Bronze went to Tiyana Tiyana from India. 14 shooters were at the start. The soldier did not come close to her current world record of 545 rings, but she expanded her World Cup precious metal collection to four.

The medal status of the ÖSB team in these title fights was increased to five. The competitions that conclude the title fights begin on Saturday with the 300 m large caliber rifle.
