The Ausseerland will leave Salzkammergut Tourismus-Marketing GmbH (STMG), the umbrella organization of Salzkammergut tourism, as a shareholder. The company has been the common link between the ten Salzkammergut sub-regions for around 20 years.
“Of course we remain part of the Salzkammergut tourist region,” announces tourism director Pamela Binder. The Styrian Salzkammergut will continue to make its financial contribution to the region as a whole.
As reported, the Upper Austrian state government is calling for a merger of the six Upper Austrian sub-regions. The new structures are to be developed in the coming year.
“Only when that has happened can we decide in which legal form we will work together in the future,” says Binder. “One thing is certain: The Styrian Salzkammergut remains a part of the tourist Salzkammergut as a whole.”
