The Linz pioneer of feminist media art Valie Export the Viennese Albertina is devoting a comprehensive retrospective until October 1st (the OÖN reported). At the same time, the neighboring Austrian Film Museum (Augustinerstraße 1) is showing directorial works by the artist.
Her two-minute short film “Orgasmus” from 1967, a short, dry examination of lust, is part of the cinematic series “Love Making” on September 8 at 6 p.m. “Invisible Opponents” from 1985 interweaves the projections and dreams of a young schizophrenic woman with reality – to be seen on September 10 at 3 p.m.
Also from 1985 is “The Practice of Love” about a journalist who is confronted with the male-dominated power apparatus in the media and in politics (September 24, 3 p.m.).
