He came to them around 5:30 a.m. without a nose and claimed to have fallen off his bike – but the officers disputed this because of the injury. With the help of police dogs, the severed nose and bloody clothes were found in a residual waste bin, spokesman Fritz Grundnig confirmed to the APA in a report by the “Kleine Zeitung”.
The injured man was taken to the hospital, where his nose was successfully sewn on – however, according to the “Kleine Zeitung” it could not be preserved because the man’s behavior did not contribute to the success of the treatment. Grundnig told the APA that it is currently being determined whether this case is self-mutilation or someone else’s fault. The man without a nose is “uncooperative” and sticks to his story.
