On September 16th and 17th, cycling enthusiasts meet for an enjoyable ride through the district of Braunau – depending on mood and condition over a distance of 60, 80 or 120 kilometers. And all that on steel wheels up to the 1987 vintage.
On Saturday from 2.30 p.m. there is a bike and parts market as well as an exhibition that sheds light on the development of the bike from its beginnings to the present day. “Models from around 1900 can be seen as well as the latest carbon bikes,” says Giro Biero organizer Hubert Kickinger. The Kracherlrunde also starts on Saturday, where the youngest cyclists compete in the presence of their families and friends.
Sunday is all about the actual Giro Biero. At 9.30 a.m. the starting signal is given for the Märzen and Doppelbock rounds (80 and 120 kilometers), at 10 a.m. for the whistling round (60 kilometers). There is no shortage of rennet stations: there are tasting sips in the Schnaitl private brewery in Gundertshausen and in the Pfesch brewery in Treubach. The lunch break is planned in the Vitzthum private brewery in Uttendorf. Start and finish is the Wurmhöringer brewery in Altheim. Other stations are the KTM Bike Industries in Mattighofen and the Mosauerin farm in Altheim.
