The Original Don Cossack Choir Serge Jaroff was probably the most famous choir in the world – and that for almost six decades from 1921 to 1979. After a twelve-year break, the choir is now back – under the direction of Wanja Hlibka, formerly Serge Jaroff’s youngest soloist heard with undiminished popularity in the great concert halls and cathedrals of Europe.
On Friday at 7.30 p.m. the choir will be performing in Bad Zell. It is remarkable that the choir is received with the same euphoria and enthusiasm in all countries and foreign cultures, which again confirms that music can connect people and peoples, even if the language is not understood by everyone. The way the songs are interpreted and the vocal possibilities of the singers, who all also appear as soloists, also guarantee that the typical tonal characteristics of this choir are preserved.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tickets are available in advance for 20 euros at the tourist office, remaining tickets at the box office in the parish church.
