The Holy Father referred to the performance of the media when receiving an award from Italian communication professionals.
He Pope Francisco was distinguished by a group of Italian communication professionals with the award “It’s Journalism”and upon receiving it he made an evaluation of said profession.
He Supreme Pontiffupon receiving it, pointed out the four “sins” commented on by the media, including “wrongly” reporting.
Therefore, the head of the Catholic Church noted that it is important for journalists to rediscover “the reality principle” and cultivate it “increasingly,” he said.
In this regard, he warned that “defamation is a sin” in an interview conducted by the owner of the Editorial Profile, Jorge Fontevecchia.
However, in that report, he defined as the first and most important of the sins the “disinformation”.
