What happens on today’s deadline day? At second division soccer team SV Guntamatic Ried, the last day before the summer transfer window closes could be really intense.
As the OÖN have already reported, there are two candidates for a departure with Michael Martin and Aleksandar Lutovac. At least the Serb Lutovac has already made a decision: The 26-year-old has canceled his contract with the Vikings at his own request. The reason: Lutovac becomes a father, so he is aiming for a move to his home country. The Rieders have complied with the wish to terminate the contract – and thus also save a large salary item.
The upcoming transfer of midfielder Martin will also flush money into the club coffers: OÖN had already reported exclusively on the interest of some clubs from the German homeland of the 23-year-old. Brunswick, Paderborn and Viktoria Cologne are said to have kept an eye on Martin. The German second division club Paderborn should now be awarded the contract: Martin is already in North Rhine-Westphalia and is currently completing the medical check-up. The current table thirteenth will draw the exit clause in five figures.
Does Ried follow suit?
Due to the impending departures, there could still be something happening at the Riedern on the side of the additions: As the OÖN found out, the Innviertler are in intensive negotiations with an Austrian legionnaire who is currently under contract in Germany.
If you go through the list of red-white-red kickers in the neighboring country, one name in particular would be obvious: Ex-LASK kicker Nemanja Celic, who is under contract with the German Bundesliga club Darmstadt 98, but no longer plays a role there.
During this transfer period, Manuel Prietl was also linked to Ried – the 32-year-old has been without a club since the summer after Arminia Bielefeld was relegated. Which does not match the information that Ried is currently in negotiations with a midfielder who is still under contract with a club.
